Meet a Mom: Brittany Smith | Hudson County Moms

How many children do you have and what are their age(s)?
I have a spunky 3.5 year old little guy and a (chill for now) 3 month old girly.

What’s your favorite family activity Jersey City?
My family and I love to walk around the Waterfront and Liberty State Park; we love the Liberty House Restaurant because if my son can get some of his energy out while we wait for the food to come and then we can walk it off after! The views are so wonderful and relaxing!

Where’s your favorite place to eat and/or shop in your town?
Aside from Liberty House Restaurant, my husband and I love to have date night at Roman Nose – you can’t go wrong with pasta and wine! As for shopping, I find myself at the Newport Mall a lot… I am a sucker for Zara and my son loves the mall… it’s a win for us both and a big loss for my husband!

What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
I am currently fostering a newborn puppy! We fostered her when she was only (an estimated) 5 days old and have been bottle feeding her until recently. She now eats so much that we can barely keep up! We’re going through the steps now to adopt her… she fits in perfect with our family 🙂

Anyone special you’d like to thank for helping you through parenthood?
I would like to thank my family for loving my kids to the moon and helping me through the rough times of parenthood that require more than just a glass of wine. I think I would have lost my mind a few years ago if it was not for them!

Are you involved in a business venture, a local organization, a creative endeavor, or in the corporate world? Please share!
I own a small business in Journal Square in Jersey City. Jump Ahead Pediatric Therapy offers speech and occupational therapy to kiddos of all ages and abilities; we’re also in-network with some insurance companies. With this quarantine, we are offering teletherapy until the state allows us to reopen

How has this community been instrumental in getting you to where you are now?
Our families that we serve are very supportive and encouraging; we receive a lot of referrals by word of mouth from families we have served in the past or current ones. Local JC blogs / social media have been super supportive by sharing our posts and featuring us in articles.
